Hawzah News Agency- the southern suburbs of Beirut on Saturday afternoon witnessed a grand scouts' gathering titled "We Stand by Our Covenant," organized by the Imam Mahdi (PBUH) Scouts Association in Beirut with the participation of more than 17,000 young male and female scouts.
The event, held at the Ashura courtyard in the al-Jamous area, opened with the sounding of the horn and the raising of Imam Mahdi banner, followed by the recitation of the Holy Quran and a collective reading of Quranic verses.
The rally also featured a march by the music band and an honor guard, and was completed in an orderly and respectful manner by the passing of a truck carrying two revered martyrs, as the Lebanese national anthem and the group's anthem were performed.
The program also included a display of scouting units featuring a collection of models and symbolic emblems.
Ahmad Abdullah, a resistance veteran who lost family members in the war, addressed the gathering. "O generation of the Sayyed, my heart found peace seeing your patience and steadfastness despite my loss of family," he said. "We will not allow the flame of revenge, which is tied to the revenge of Imam Mahdi, to be extinguished." He stressed: "We will not disappoint the oppressed, and the turbans of the martyrs will continue to guide us."
Sheikh Ali Daamoush, head of Hezbollah's Executive Council, also addressed the rally and took part in a wreath-laying ceremony and the recitation of the oath. "We have come today to renew our pledge with the martyred leaders, all the martyrs of our path, and the martyrs of the Imam Mahdi (AS) Scouts Association," he said.
Daamoush stressed: "We will not hesitate in confronting the occupying Zionists, and we will not deviate from the path of our martyrs."
He said that through the Imam Mahdi (PBUH) scouts, generations will become familiar with the path of the mujahideen and the martyrs, adding: "The vanguards of Imam Mahdi (PBUH) are the highest educational model through which young men and women are guided toward values and justice, and scouting activities offer an educational and moral opportunity that strengthens the current generation in an era facing cultural, moral, and behavioral challenges."
Describing scouting as no longer merely a mobilization effort but a social and humanitarian one, Daamoush stressed that it is part of an educational and social movement that must not be drawn into political disputes. He emphasized that "generations must be kept away from any sectarian logic and from all hatred and enmity."
Responding to accusations leveled against educational and scouting institutions, Daamoush said: "Political accusations and attempts to smear the Imam Mahdi Scouts Association or the Imam Mahdi schools are rejected, and they will not be stopped from continuing their role in raising generations that walk the path of resistance and defend their existence."
He added that parents understand these institutions raise their children to love life with dignity, not to spread a culture of death in society as claimed. Daamoush stressed: "The resistance project has not ended despite all efforts, and it will not end."
"We affirm once again today our commitment to the resistance approach and to it as a national option," he said. "Amid occupation, the enemy's ambitions for our land, and the state's failure to carry out its responsibilities, our people have no choice but to defend their land."
He stressed: "The fundamental issue today is liberating the south from the filth of occupation and returning its people to their villages."
Daamoush affirmed: "Our first priority is the people, and we will spare no effort in serving this sacrificing people."
He added that if the enemy succeeds in reoccupying some villages and towns, this by no means signifies the victory of its project, and that resistance here becomes more than a national necessity to retake the land. Lebanese officials have not offered a political option that liberates the land and returns its inhabitants, he said, but rather handed over a precious part of the land to the occupiers.
